Mike Hodgson, President
Mike Hodgson founded ConSol in 1983. He brings over three decades of experience in making new and existing buildings more energy efficient. Hodgson has and continues to work extensively in energy and green codes, program management and market transformation at local, state, and national levels. Hodgson led the development and implementation of several energy efficiency and green market transformation programs. Current ConSol programs include Central Valley Energy Tune Up Program, Southern Nevada Green Builder Program, and Builder Energy Code Training Program.
Hodgson has been awarded the National Green Advocate award by National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), U.S. Department of Energy's Technical Assistance Award, the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star® Award, and the Pacific Gas & Electric's Energy Efficiency Services Excellence Award. He currently serves as chair for the California Building Industry Association's Energy Subcommittee, and the National Association of Homebuilders' Energy and Green Builder Subcommittees. He is also a founding director of the California Association of Building Energy Consultants. Hodgson holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the University of California at Davis.
Jay Lenzmeier, Chief Financial Officer
Jay Lenzmeier joined ConSol as chief financial officer in 2003. Lenzmeier oversees ConSol's financial operations, information technology and human resources function. He has over 22 years of executive level finance experience with companies throughout the region. Prior to joining ConSol, Lenzmeier spent ten years in the residential new home construction industry as vice president of accounting and administration with the California Building Industry Association. He was responsible for four entities with annual budgets totaling approximately $12M. Lenzmeier served in the U.S. Army in Germany before attending the University of North Dakota where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration specializing in finance and accounting. He is a C.P.A.
David Meyers, Chief Operating Officer
David Meyers joined ConSol as a business operations analyst in 2005 tasked with successfully leading the company on a path of process and procedural improvements. Under Meyer's leadership, ConSol successfully implemented key accounting, project management and CRM software applications across the company. Meyers was the architect behind ConSol's Online Tracking System (COLTS) which streamlined how ConSol managed its internal operations. Meyers is a proven leader with the ideal skill set and industry expertise to manage all of ConSol's operations departments which includes residential, commercial, and project management. He has earned a reputation as a highly engaged and knowledgeable executive with a long history of delivering superior operational performance. Prior to ConSol, he spent over ten years in high tech manufacturing operations with palmOne Inc., Netscape Communications and Oracle Corporation. Meyers graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations from the University of California at Davis.
Ignacio Robles, VP Engineering
Ignacio Robles has nearly four decades of experience in facilities engineering, design and construction of energy related projects, with expertise in project management, energy program management both private and for utilities, performance contracting, and consultant and construction administration. He has extensive experience and expertise in the design and evaluation of HVAC systems, analysis, computer simulation, utility rate analysis, project cost estimating, and energy savings calculations. Throughout his career Robles has focused on energy savings design, retro-commissioning and retrofit measures before these became popular in the industry. He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineer credentials in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and New York.
Alex Vantaggiato, Director of Residential Services
Alex Vantaggiato has over a decade of experience in residential construction, energy efficiency, operations, and project management. With in-depth knowledge, Alex leads ConSol's Residential Services Department and he serves as lead project manager for several large contracts with utility, local, and state government agency clients. He also serves as the subject matter expert and lead trainer for ConSol's training program. Vantaggiato was the lead designer and implementer of ConSol's online learning management system, successfully transitioning from standard classroom to web learning delivery. He is valued for his strong ability to incorporate innovative management techniques that result in enhanced business practices and increased productivity for ConSol clients. Vantaggiato started his career in the U.S. Army prior to joining ConSol, where he has served over 13 years and is still serving today as an Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. He graduated Cum Laude from ITT Tech with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, and completed extensive coursework in the U.S. Military in leadership, team building, group dynamics, instructional methods, and operations management.
Rod Tamayo, Information Technology Manager
Rod Tamayo has over 20 years' experience in energy consulting, energy-efficient building design, and building energy regulation. Tamayo has a strong knowledge of computer information systems including database design and management, and custom application development in the .net environment. This rare combination of expertise in building energy efficiency and IT gives Tamayo the unique ability to develop and implement systems for reliably and comprehensively tracking building energy data. His experience in dealing with builders, subcontractors, designers, energy modelers and HERS raters allows him to build systems and interfaces that help synchronize data collected in the field with data generated through building energy simulation programs or collected from plan sets. Tamayo has extensive coursework in computer science but ultimately received a B.S. in Psychology with a biology emphasis from the University of California, Davis.
Garth Torvestad, Senior Technical Consultant
Garth Torvestad has a strong background in policy, technical, and software issues related to Energy Efficiency Standards—especially California's Title 24. He leads a team of efficiency program managers focused on development of innovative, cost-effective energy saving solutions in the areas of research and development, market stimulation, and building codes. Torvestad has developed strong relationship with an expansive network of individuals from the building industry, building products manufacturers and public energy policy staff to advance cost-effective approaches to energy efficient construction and renewable energy integration. He is a LEED Accredited Professional who received his Bachelor of Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and his Master of Science in Urban Land Development from Cal State, Sacramento.
John Morton, Senior Project Manager
John Morton has worked in the residential new construction industry since 2001 where he managed all aspects of the homebuilding process from design development through construction. Prior to joining ConSol, John managed the award winning Southern California Edison residential new construction energy efficiency programs. Morton is a leader in the field of residential energy efficiency including extensive work in zero net energy construction. He is on the Board of Trustees at the California Homebuilding Foundation and Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association of Orange County. Morton served in the U.S. Marine Corps before attending the DeVry University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business.
Janet Ferrari, Consulting Department Operations Manager
Janet Ferrari has worked in the renewable energy industry since 2009, performing energy use analysis, evaluating energy efficiency, designing renewable energy systems, and managing the installation of these systems. She also has over 2 decades of experience in project management, across a variety of other industries. Throughout her career, she has focused on economic analysis, budgeting and estimating job costs and scope of work, tracking and actualization of costs during project implementation, keeping deliverables on track, and client collaboration, bringing projects all the way to successful completion. She brings a wealth of knowledge in the realm of financing. She is a Certified Energy Manager who earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from UCLA.
Francene DuPre, Director of Sales and Marketing
Francene DuPre has worked in the residential construction industry in since 2004 when she served as a Regional Sales Manager for ConSol. DuPre excelled at planning, development, and execution of sales strategies tailored to effectively meet client needs. As ConSol's Director of Sales and Marketing DuPre has developed and refined a CRM application for forecasting and reporting as well as created direct and regionally targeted promotional activities including point of sale materials, trade show events, and web content for various markets including commercial retrofits. She holds an M.B.A. in Sustainable Enterprise from Dominican University of California.
Tony Martinez, Project Manager
Tony Martinez has over 20 years of experience in energy consulting, energy-efficient building design and energy regulations. His comprehensive and in-depth knowledge and experience with energy and design-related computer software programs combined with his broad product knowledge, have contributed to saving ConSol clients millions of dollars with cost-effective compliance options. He has extensive experience in residential new construction, including energy codes, design, ratings and demand-side management (DSM) programs. As a Project Manager, Martinez manages several large projects for ConSol's public and private sector clients including the Southern Nevada Green Building Program and energy code research and analysis for the California Building Industry Association. He is a Certified Energy Analyst, Certified Energy Plans Examiner and a long standing and active member of the California Association of Building Energy Consultants (CABEC).
Jim Wheeler, Residential Energy Efficiency Services Supervisor
Jim Wheeler joined ConSol in 2004 as a Residential Energy Efficiency Services Analyst. With his strong leadership skills and extensive knowledge of energy codes and standards, building science and energy efficiency programs, he now serves as Residential Energy Efficiency Services Supervisor where he oversees ConSol's Residential Energy Efficiency Services Department. Wheeler is a certified HERS I Energy Rater and a certified Energy Analyst with CABEC. Wheeler studied and received his Associates of Science Degree in Computer Aid Drafting and Design (CADD) from ITT Technical Institute.
Megan Cordes, Project Manager
Megan Cordes has worked in the field of engineering, design and energy consulting since 2006. Prior to joining ConSol, she served as an Associate Energy Specialist for the California Energy Commission where she managed the contract for AB 758 (Comprehensive Energy Efficiency Program for Existing Buildings), evaluated software used to model energy use in new and existing residential and commercial buildings and provided program technical and administrative support to investor-owned utilities. Cordes has an extensive background in energy policy and building science. She has worked with government agencies, utilities, and other industry stakeholders to promote and execute energy efficiency projects and programs. Megan received a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a concentration in Environmental Studies.
Dan Krekelberg, Project Manager
Dan Krekelberg has a strong background in program implementation for land, energy and infrastructure development. Dan previously worked for five years at the U.S. Bureau of Land Management as a realty specialist, tasked with coordinating entitlements for utility-scale renewable energy projects, major rights-of-way and land acquisitions. As an undergraduate studying government, he worked for two years at a real estate consulting firm in Sacramento, conducting research on planning, zoning and entitlements for homebuilding. He has also been involved with operations and business development at a family owned flooring company. Dan has an MS in Urban Management and Development from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a BA in Government from California State University, Sacramento.
Jeremy Silva, Project Manager
Jeremy Silva has worked in the energy consulting field since 2007. He has worked with government agencies, utilities, and other industry stakeholders to meet objectives of energy efficiency projects and programs. Jeremy is a certified HERS I, Whole House Energy Rater, Multifamily Building Analyst Professional with BPI and a Residential Certified Energy Analyst with CABEC. Jeremy received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University of Sacramento.
Brant White, Project Manager
Brant White's background is in supervising multifamily building projects where he gained valuable experience in construction management, project operations, implementing energy efficiency upgrades and conducting extensive engineering audits in both the private and nonprofit sector projects. Through his work in rehabilitating blighted properties he has improved living conditions while increasing economic independence from public utilities by expanding environmental sustainability in thousands of California households. He is certified by the United States Green Building Council in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and has an accreditation from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). Brant is a graduate of Cal State University Northridge where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Media Management.
